When George Clooney is awarded on 26 February 2013 in Baden-Baden, an exclusive group of guests from the business, political and media worlds will be waiting to welcome the American actor. Not only a large number of newspaper and magazine editors, but also executives from big industrial companies and the TV celebrities Günther Jauch and Thomas Gottschalk have accepted the invitation to attend as guests.
Birdy will be coming to Germany this year for the first time to give George Clooney a musical surprise. The 16-year-old British singer has scored a global hit with "People Help The People" and the song is currently among the best-selling singles in Europe and the United States.
Birdy would like to dedicate this rousing song to Clooney and, according to Warner Music Germany’s President Bernd Dopp, tell him "that he has touched and inspired young people with his initiative to help others".
Media Control has awarded the Prize since 1992 to outstanding personalities.
